Promotion through Google contextual advertising does not stand still. The search engine provides new and new opportunities for advertisers. Latest innovation - advertising on image search!

Google introduces a new way to promote products in image search for retailers - through advertising.

This new ad format allows retailers to highlight multiple products in a single ad unit, which will be displayed in Google Images results.

These ad units behave like consumer pins on Pinterest, where several items in the photo are labeled for sale.

Google’s Shoppable Ads will appear in the search results for images marked “Advertising” and with a price icon.

If you hover the cursor on the price tag icon, the prices of the products, as well as the brand name and other information are displayed.

See the example in GIF below:

Users can click the selected product to go to the product page and make a purchase.

Paid ads on Google Images are currently being tested for a small percentage of traffic in some retail stores.

In the coming months, Google plans to deploy this ad unit for more categories in other stores.

If you have previously seen an ad with pictures (storefront or Showcase Shopping ads) at the top of an ordinary search, then after innovations, this showcase will also be displayed in the image search results.

Google also reminded retailers of its recent expansion of the Merchant Center.

Does your online store use an analogue of Yandex Market in Google - Merchant Center?

Consumers are increasingly turning to Google Images for inspiration before shopping.

Google quotes a recent study that shows that 50% of online shoppers believe that product images inspired them to buy.

These new advertising solutions will help retailers to offer their products to customers through many points of contact.
