Google gives site owners the ability to customize the preview of their content in search results.
By default, Google always generates search fragments according to user requests and the types of devices they use.
It was just an allowed text fragment.
Google is now introducing several methods that allow you to fine-tune the content for preview.
These methods include the use of robot meta tags, as well as a new type of HTML attribute. Here is more information about each of these methods.

Customizing Search Fragments with Robot Meta Tags
The content displayed in the previews of the search fragments can now be customized using the meta tags of robots.
The following meta tags can be added to the HTML page or specified via the x-robots-tag HTTP header:
"Nosnippet" is an existing option that allows you to specify that you do not want the text fragment to be displayed on the page.
“Maximum fragment: [number]” (NEW) - Indicate the maximum length of the text in characters for your page.
“Max-video-preview: [number]” (NEW) - Say the maximum duration in seconds for animated video preview.
“Max-image-preview: [setting]” (NEW) - Specify the maximum size for viewing images on this page using “none”, “standard” or “large”.
The above robot meta tags can also be combined, for example:
<meta name = ”robots” content = ”max-snippet: 50, max-image-preview: large”>
New HTML data-nosnippet attribute
Google introduces a completely new way to limit.
The new data-nosnippet HTML attribute for span, div, and section elements may prevent certain parts of the HTML page from appearing in the text fragment in the search results.
You can use this method if you want Google to not use too much of your content.
Here is an example:
<p> <span data-nosnippet> Harry Houdini </ span> is undoubtedly the most famous magician who has ever lived. </ p>
The HTML attribute does not allow Google to provide a response (Harry Houdini) in the search results.

This is a summary of the necessary information about these changes.
There are no changes in search rankings.
This update only affects search results. Google guarantees that these settings are not confirmed.
Depending on how the site owner decides to configure these settings, this may affect the CTR. This is not related to search ranking.
When do these changes take effect?
Preview settings for valid from mid to late October 2019. It may take a week to complete the global deployment.
The data-nosnippet HTML attribute will take effect later this year. This was not provided for this parameter.
Rich results?
Content in structured data that can appear as rich results will not be affected by these new settings.
Due to the fact that they decided to include only structured data.
How will these changes affect selected snippets?
Favorite fragments Thus, if you are too limited in the available preview, it can only be displayed in fragments.
Therefore, Google cannot provide the exact maximum fragment length to ensure compliance.
Can site owners experiment with fragment length?
Site owners can change these settings at any time. If you want to get the maximum fragment length in the search results, you can simply change the HTML attribute.
Google notes that these new search snippet customization methods will work just like other results displayed worldwide. If the settings are changed, your new settings will appear in the search results the next time you look at the Google page again.
Google will 100% follow these settings
These new settings will not be considered as tips or tricks. Google will fully comply with the preferences of site owners specified in the meta tags of robots and / or the HTML attribute.
No differences between desktop and mobile settings
The preview settings will be applied both to the search results on the mobile device, and to the search results on the desktop. If the site has separate versions for mobile and desktop computers, then in both cases the same markup should be used.
Some recent notes
These options are now available for site owners, but these changes will not be reflected in the search results until mid-late October.
